THE STORY

A. S. Hugill built a 75-foot-long by 14-foot-wide multiple king-post truss bridge in 1881 for $1483 on the land of John Lowe. It survived the great flood of 1888 but in 1899 was washed away from its original site to a point 1/2 miles upstream.
