Farm River State Park is a sixty-two-acre estuarine park in East Haven, Connecticut, along the western shore of the Farm River estuary. Publicly owned but privately operated with limited access, it is managed by Quinnipiac University for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Its marshes, tidal wetlands, rocky shoreline, uplands, and exposed bedrock support ducks, gulls, snowy egrets, blue herons, and other wildlife, and tidal flooding can divide it into upper and lower sections. Created after the purchase of two parcels in 1998, the park preserved riverfront land from nearby condominium development and now supports hiking, fishing, bird watching, and car-top boating.
