New York Canyon Falls
Nature
New York Canyon Falls is a remote waterfall in Tahoe National Forest in the Sierra Nevada of northern California, where New York Canyon Creek, a tributary of the North Fork American River, plunges about 500 feet in a near-vertical drop. Located roughly 10 miles southeast of Yuba Pass in rugged mountain country, it stands near another cascade, East Snow Mountain Falls. The site has no constructed trail, and reaching it requires a difficult scramble, a challenge that has helped preserve the falls as a little-visited feature of the canyon.
