East Snow Mountain Falls is a seasonal waterfall in California’s Sierra Nevada, where an unnamed stream descends from the eastern face of Snow Mountain into the Royal Gorge of the North Fork American River. At 2,200 feet, it is the state’s second tallest measured waterfall after Yosemite Falls. Instead of one sheer drop, it forms a long cascade of many smaller falls down the mountainside. Because its drainage basin is small, its flow is usually short-lived and depends on winter snow and runoff, typically lasting from December through July. Its great height, seasonal flow, and remote location make it a striking but infrequently seen natural feature.
