Blanco Methodist Church was organized in 1854 by Rev. Daniel Rawls, a Methodist circuit rider, with six charter members. Worship was held in a log cabin and a frame building until 1882. The present structure was erected and dedicated in 1883, and it still serves as the church sanctuary. Native limestone was hauled 10 mi. from a quarry by ox-cart and wagon team. Its unique cornerstone is laid above the east doorway arch, and the tower bell is the same one installed in 1883.
