In Willcox, Arizona, this museum and hall of fame preserve both the life of Rex Allen and the region’s ranching heritage. Founded on September 10, 1983, the hall of fame honors old-time local cowboys who worked in the ranch industry, while the museum holds photographs, movie posters, records, instruments, cowboy outfits, and other memorabilia from Allen’s career. Born forty miles north of Willcox, Allen became famous in the 1950s as one of the last singing cowboys and was also known for narrating Disney nature films and Westerns. A bronze statue across the street reflects the town’s continuing tribute to his place in Arizona cowboy tradition.
