Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a 422-acre theme park near Williamsburg, Virginia, opened in 1975 by Anheuser-Busch beside its brewery and near Kingsmill. Originally called Busch Gardens: The Old Country, it was built around stylized European villages linked by attractions such as the Aeronaut Skyride and Busch Gardens Railway. The park became especially known for its roller coasters, including Loch Ness Monster, and for major live entertainment, seasonal festivals, animal exhibits, and conservation efforts. Its ownership changed after Anheuser-Busch’s 2008 acquisition by InBev, and the park later expanded to signature Halloween and Christmas events, reopened with limits in 2020, and began year-round operation in 2021.
