The Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, at U.S. Route 20 and Revere Avenue, became the last operating retail store in the world to use the Blockbuster name after outlasting every other franchise by 2019. Opened in 1992 by Ken and Debbie Tisher as part of their Pacific Video chain, it became a Blockbuster franchise in 2000, with Sandi Harding serving as general manager since 2004. Still independently owned, it functions as both a working video rental store and a pop culture destination, drawing tourists, preserving a fading style of movie browsing, and increasingly relying on merchandise as rentals declined.
