Built in 1911 for James W. and Mary K. Loofbourow, this house was reportedly the costliest residence in eastern Utah at the time and was one of the very few large, elaborate houses built in Price during the early twentieth century, a period of considerable community growth. James W. Loofbourow managed the J.C. Weeter Lumber Company for more than 25 years and served one term as mayor of Price in the 1920s, and his work in the lumber business may account for the elaborate interior woodwork. The Loofbourows sold the house in 1918 to Riley E. and Marie Moss, whose family owned it for more than 50 years, and David and Shauna O'Brien restored it in 1983-86.
