This land is the traditional territory of the Tsnungwe. Land acknowledgements are a way people insert an awareness of Indigenous presence and land rights into everyday life, often at the beginning of ceremonies, lectures, or education guides. They offer an explicit yet limited recognition of the history of colonialism and First Nations, as well as a need for change in settler-colonial societies. A map used for educational purposes is imperfect and does not represent or intend to represent official or legal boundaries of any Indigenous nations, and definitive boundaries should be learned from the nation.
