Originally called County Line, the community took the name Drasco when general store owner R.O. Kerr applied for a post office and received one under that name on Dec. 16, 1904. Kerr served as postmaster until 1909. The first schoolhouse was built in 1902 on land donated by Tom Puckett, and the school consolidated with Winters School in 1947. During its thriving years, Drasco had two stores, a cotton gin, a blacksmith shop, a five-room school building, and two churches, of which the Baptist Church is still active. Its population never exceeded 30.
