Accepted by the Air Force on October 31, 1961, this Sabreliner was initially assigned to the Air Training Command at Randolph AFB, Texas, then transferred to the Air Force Communication Command at Richards Gebaur AFB, Missouri, from 1975 to 1984. It was later assigned to the Military Airlift Command at Scott AFB, where it flew many distinguished civilian and military leaders. With over 14,700 hours of flight time and 22 years of service, Sabreliner 60-3495 honors the missions and airmen it served. Manufactured by North American Aviation, the aircraft measured 44 feet in length, 16 feet in height, and had a wingspan of 44 feet 6 inches; its maximum weight was 18,650 pounds. Powered by two Pratt and Whitney J60-P-3 turbo jets producing 3,000 pounds of thrust each, it had a maximum speed of 530 miles per hour, a cruising speed of 485 miles per hour, a range of 1,950 miles, a crew of an aircraft commander and copilot, and a maximum of seven passengers.
