Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is a 2,040-acre oasis in the Mojave Desert within Las Vegas, centered on small spring-fed lakes that form one of the valley’s larger urban retreats. Once outside the city, it is now surrounded by development. The property became a city park in 1964, passed to state control in 1977 as Floyd Lamb State Park, and returned to Las Vegas on July 2, 2007, when it received its current name and additional Bureau of Land Management acreage. The park includes Tule Springs Ranch, the Tule Springs Archaeological Site, Tule Springs Wash, and four fishing ponds, and it is recognized on national and local historic registers.
