Churchill Cottage was a summer beach cottage built for Colin Francis Churchill, a native of Siler City, North Carolina, who was an engineer, and his wife, Mildred Dorset. It remained in the family until 1993 and was painted as “The Beach Cottage” in 1981 by Claude Howell.
