Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tennessee, occupies land just inland from the original Paris Landing, a Tennessee River steamboat landing that was submerged after the Tennessee Valley Authority dammed the river in 1944 and created Kentucky Lake. The park’s identity is closely tied to that reshaped landscape and to recreation on the reservoir. It offers lodging, campsites, a marina, and conference facilities, and it has become a noted fishing destination through many crappie and bass tournaments.
