A grove of nine trees forms part of the original landscaping planted around Captain George Flavel's historic 1886 Queen Anne style house. The grove includes a giant sequoia, ginko, Camperdown elm, bay laurel, pear, and four cork elms. Flavel's love of such trees grew from his many voyages to places around the world, and the family gardener, Louis Schultz, planted them at Captain Flavel's request.
