Battell Park

Battell Park, Mishawaka's oldest park dating to about the 1860s, was given to the city in 1881 by members of the Battell family. Its features include a Civil War soldiers monument erected in 1884, a neoclassical copper-domed brick and limestone bandshell commemorating World War I and built in 1927, and an exceptional Works Progress Administration rock garden created in 1937. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
