In 1999, a dedicated group of community members came together to expand the Wardsboro Community Library. Their fundraising efforts enabled the purchase of the current library location, and they began renovating the building to create a new home for the library. They created and laid the foundation for the Friends of the Wardsboro Library as a 501(c)3 volunteer organization that owns the Gloria Danforth Memorial Building and is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the community resource that houses the Wardsboro Public Library.
