First launched in 1982, Black Brant IX powered rockets have carried experiments including telescopes, scientific instruments, and technology tests. Launched around the world, they perform well in extreme environments from 100 degrees Fahrenheit to minus 40 degrees and remain reliable two-stage rockets for Wallops suborbital missions. They can carry payloads weighing more than 2,000 pounds.
