Herns Mill Covered Bridge near Lewisburg, West Virginia, was built in 1884 to provide access to the S.S. Hern Mill, linking it to the region’s late-19th-century industrial landscape. This small rural covered road bridge is a Queen post truss span measuring 53 feet, 8 inches long and 10 feet, 6 inches wide, with red board-and-batten siding and a galvanized sheet metal roof. As one of only two surviving covered bridges in Greenbrier County, it remains an important piece of local transportation history. Its historical importance was recognized by its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
