Women served in the Armed Forces to preserve America's freedom during conflicts including the French and Indian Wars, the Revolutionary War for Independence, the Whiskey Rebellion, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, the Mexican Border War of 1916, World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Dominican Republic, the Vietnam Conflict, Grenada, Haiti, Panama, Somalia, Operation Desert Shield, and Operation Desert Storm, and citizens contributed faith, work, patriotism, civic spirit, and other efforts to honor the service of men and women.
