Waterford Covered Bridge is a historic wooden one-lane bridge on Niemeyer Road over LeBoeuf Creek in Waterford Township, Pennsylvania. Built in 1875 by brothers Charles and James Phelps, it is the only Town lattice covered bridge in Erie County and one of just 19 remaining in Pennsylvania. Its lattice truss reflects Ithiel Town’s influential 1820 design, which used pinned diagonal timbers to create a strong, economical structure. Long valued as a rare survivor, it was documented in 1936 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. After years of deterioration, vandalism, and truck damage, it closed in 2011, was rebuilt, and reopened in November 2024.
