Settlers Isaac and Nancy Sharp donated this site for the Pleasant Grove school, church, and cemetery. School and regular church services began here in 1832 in a log cabin known as the "Sharp Meeting House." The first burial took place in 1837, when Elizabeth S. Hamar, age 2, was buried here. Isaac Sharp, a veteran of the War of 1812, was buried here in 1848.
