Rex Edwin Haecker was born on January 8, 1912, and died on July 16, 2011. A Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was dedicated to preserving Pickaway County history, genealogy, and heritage, and was a benefactor to the Soldiers Monumental Association of Pickaway County, the Pickaway County Historical Society, Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery, and High Street Cemetery.
