George F. Austin served in the Navy aboard USS Estes AGC 12, a flagship supporting the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and witnessed the flag raising on Mt. Surabachi. Rita Sweeney Austin is also honored. The tribute praises those who serve liberty for all, declares that they gave their lives with courage and, most of all, gave freedom, and affirms to POW and MIA that they are not forgotten.
