Ogden Marsh, born in 1838 and dead in 1872, was a civil engineer, surveyor, and attorney who platted the town of Springfield in 1869 and built its first dwelling house in 1870. His wife, Addie L. Marsh, born in 1844 and dead in 1872, was the first white woman in Springfield.
