Sacramento Valley National Cemetery is dedicated to the memory of all the patriotic men and women who answered their country’s call to service, and it is paired with lines from Theodore O’Hara’s poem “The Bivouac of the Dead,” which honors the soldier’s last tattoo, the brave and fallen few, and the solemn guardianship of their resting place.
