Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado, began in 1941 as the five-acre private garden of Colonel King C. Hudson and Evelyn Leigh Hudson and later grew into a 30-acre public botanical garden and event center. Opened to the public in June 1996 through the foundation Evelyn established before her death in 1988, it features cultivated displays, trails, and landscapes reflecting Colorado’s dry prairie and river wetlands. Its named areas include rose, water, xeriscape, and wetland gardens, along with a model railroad and honeybee apiary. The site also hosts weddings, memorial gatherings, holiday lights, and for many years its Summer Concert Series.
