Indian Mountain is a remote 7,133-foot summit in the Skagit Range of the North Cascades within North Cascades National Park in northern Washington, near the Canada–United States border. Though not one of the range’s highest peaks, it rises dramatically above Brush Creek Valley, giving it notable local relief. Water from its slopes flows into tributaries of the Chilliwack River. The mountain stands in a landscape formed by tectonic activity, terrane accretion, uplift, faulting, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation, which carved the steep ridges and U-shaped valleys of the area. Its marine west coast climate brings heavy precipitation, snowy winters, and frequent avalanche danger, with the clearest weather usually from July to September.
