Challenger Glacier lies on the north slopes of Mount Challenger in North Cascades National Park in Washington. Descending from about 8,000 feet to 5,000 feet and spreading more than 2 miles wide, it is distinguished by a broad terminus, heavy crevassing, and numerous icefalls. On its northern side, a tongue of ice extends toward a proglacial lake. The glacier is also important as part of one of the most common climbing routes to Mount Challenger’s summit.
