Onion Ditch Bridge, Bridge 174-0.56, was Ohio’s first recycled thermoplastic composite bridge. It was built in 2012 at a construction cost of $325,661 by the Logan County Engineer’s Office Bridge Crew, using materials manufactured by Axion of New Providence, NJ. The bridge was designed by Parsons Brickeroff and funded by the Innovative Bridge Research and Deployment Program, with project engineers Todd Bumgardner, Bryan Dhume, P.E., and Scott C. Coleman, P.E., P.S., Logan County Engineer.
