Old Rock Creek
Transportation
1
Old Rock Creek was the transportation center for Southcentral Idaho from August 1864, when Ben Holladay's stagecoach first arrived at the stage station here, until the completion of the railroad on the north side of the Snake River. Twenty years later, huge freight-wagon trains, pack strings, stagecoaches, and covered wagons stopped at this oasis for supplies and repairs or food and rest before resuming the long, slow journey to their destination.
