Morris Canal "King's Basin"
Transportation
6
From the mid-1800's to the 1920's, this site, named for the prominent King family, was where canal boats docked while waiting to pass through two inclined planes or a nearby lock. Boatmen bought goods and supplies from local stores, helping fuel the economy of the area called Drakesville, now Ledgewood.
