Goodale State Park
Nature
Goodale State Park, just outside Camden in South Carolina, centers on a 140-acre lake that originated as a Civil War-era mill pond. The park also offers canoe access to Pine Tree Creek, where a three-mile canoe trail winds through tall cypress trees and defines much of the landscape’s character. Kershaw County donated the land to the state in 1973, and the park was named for local florist N.R. Goodale, whose efforts helped bring it into being. Admission is free.
