Helmick Covered Bridge was built in 1863 by original contractor John Shrake. It was restored in 1996 by restoration contractor W.M. Brode Co., with restoration design by Richland Engineering, Ltd. and Don Timmer. The restoration of the last remaining covered bridge in Coshocton County was made possible by the tireless efforts of the Helmick Covered Bridge Restoration Committee.
