Camas National Wildlife Refuge is a 10,578-acre managed conservation area in southeastern Idaho that provides vital wetland and upland habitat for nesting waterfowl and migratory birds. Its lakes, ponds, marshes, sagebrush uplands, meadows, farm fields, and Camas Creek are carefully managed through water-control systems, haying, prescribed fire, and grain crops that support wildlife while limiting damage to nearby farms. The refuge is especially important during spring and fall migration, when tens of thousands of ducks, thousands of geese, and hundreds of tundra and trumpeter swans gather there. It is also known for diverse birdlife, notable songbird records, and mammals ranging from pronghorn to moose.
