Founded in 1993 in Los Angeles as the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Museum of Tolerance focuses on the Holocaust and the broader study of racism, prejudice, and hate. Designed as a public educational institution rather than only a memorial, it uses immersive exhibitions, survivor testimony, archival materials, and programs on bullying, hate crimes, and other atrocities to examine how intolerance develops and can be challenged. Serving about 350,000 visitors annually, including many schoolchildren, it has also trained law-enforcement professionals through its Museums Tools for Tolerance initiative. The museum remains a prominent forum for human rights, memory, and contemporary prejudice.
