In 1865, North Branford honored its soldiers John S. Robinson of Company F, 27th C.V., who died at Baltimore, M.D., June 18, 1863, aged 27; Dayton R. Scranton of Company F, 12th C.V., who died in L.A. December 18, 1863, aged 28; Walter A. Stone of Company F, 1st Connecticut Artillery, who died at home October 31, 1862, aged 20; Albert F. Wheaton of Company A, 10th C.V., who was killed at the Battle of Kinston, N.C., December 15, 1862, aged 27; Josiah Johnson of Company B, 27th C.V., who died January 5, 1863, of wounds received at the Battle of Fredericksburg, V.A., aged 23; James H. Scranton of Company F, 12th C.V., who died in Salisbury Prison, N.C., in February 1865, aged 22; and J. Henry Palmer of Company K, 10th C.V., who died April 11, 1865, of wounds received before Petersburg, V.A., aged 26.
