Opened in Honor, Michigan, on U.S. Highway 31 on July 4, 1953, Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre and Diner is the only remaining drive-in in Northern Michigan and one of just eight left in the state as of 2024. Operating in summer, it preserves much of the classic drive-in experience with original vacuum-tube amplifiers and speaker posts while also using digital HD projection. Its family-oriented double features, diner-style concessions, and added attractions such as play areas, putt-putt golf, volleyball, and a dog rest area have made it a distinctive roadside destination. Long associated with Jean Griffin and later Laura Clark, it continued into a new chapter under Mindi Jarman in 2024.
