From this community, men served their country in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf, and special remembrance is given to those who gave their lives: Lee Flora; Loren Atkinson, Robert Garlock, Marion Harris, Eldon Looney, Homer Nelson, Carl Struthers, Clark Welch, and Lu Verne Witmer (Sam); Harold Roadenizer; Dick E. Cuff, David Pearson, and Richard M. Welch; and Timothy RF. Harrison. The inscription closes with John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends.”
