Alexander House Center for Art & History in Port Edwards, Wisconsin, is a museum devoted to both art and local history, with a strong focus on the lumbering and papermaking industries that shaped central Wisconsin. Founded in 1990 by members of the Alexander Charitable Foundation as the home for the former Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company’s historical collection, it opened in 1991. Its main level features changing art exhibitions, while the second floor presents historical collections in four rooms on early lumbering, papermaking, and the families and communities tied to those industries. It has exhibited hundreds of artists and welcomed tens of thousands of visitors.
