The Lower Swedish Cabin is the only remaining log cabin of its type among several once located on Darby Creek. It was evidently built by Swedish settlers who came to this area after 1638. Early Philadelphia film-maker Siegmund Lubin used it as the site for several pre-1910 motion pictures.
