Pettyjohn Cave, also known as Wilsons Cave, is a karst cave on the east side of Pigeon Mountain in northwest Georgia within the Appalachian Plateau. One of the longer mapped caves in the state, it has a surveyed length of 31,490 feet and a depth of 235 feet. Reached by a path from Rocky Lane, the cave contains a rich variety of limestone formations, including stalagmites, stalactites, pillars, soda straws, cave pearls, flowstone, and cave popcorn, along with waterfalls in its stream passage. It also serves as a winter hibernation site for tricolored bats and little brown bats and ranks 119th among listed U.S. caves by length.
