The Reverend William Montgomery

The Reverend William Montgomery, born in 1768 in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and died on March 18, 1848, in Jefferson County, Mississippi, was a pioneer Presbyterian minister to the Natchez District. He was a charter member of the first Presbyteries of Georgia and Mississippi, served as pastor of Pine Ridge from 1812 to 1816 and of Ebenezer from 1815 to 1848, and was the first pastor of Union Church Presbyterian from 1820 to 1848. He was buried in the Torrey Darden Cemetery in Jefferson County, Mississippi.
