Founded before 1721 by settlers from the north of Ireland, Donegal Presbyterian Church first had a log building, and the present building was erected in 1740 under a patent granted by John Thomas and Richard Penn on June 4, 1740. The Presbytery of Donegal was organized in this church on October 11, 1732, and members of the congregation figured prominently in all wars of this country.
