Augusta, Kentucky features the Jenny Ann Ferry, in operation since April 2, 1798, transporting passengers between Augusta and Boude's Landing one mile west of Higginsport, Ohio; the Augusta Rotary Railroad Museum and Welcome Center in an old C&O Railroad caboose; the Rosemary Clooney Museum in her past home, which had been the old Bradford Hotel in 1850; the Old 1811 Jail, the oldest jail in Kentucky, on the site of the Bracken County Courthouse until 1839; Appelman Park; Baker-Bird Winery and Distillery, whose wine cellar is the oldest and largest in the United States and sheltered Augusta residents during the 1862 Civil War Battle of Augusta; the Augusta Boat Dock; local restaurants including a tavern in the former James Armstrong Drug Store, fired on but not burned during Morgan's raid on Augusta on September 27, 1862; and lodging in cottages, cabins, inns, and riverfront houses.
