From 1946 through the early 1960's, the Oak Brook Hounds fox hunt could be seen galloping across this landscape. The hunt took place from what is now the Tri-State Tollway to Highland Avenue and from Ogden Avenue to Roosevelt Road. The U shaped fences enabled the horse and rider to jump the fence and come to a halt before crossing the roadway.
