Downsville Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge spanning the East Branch of the Delaware River in Downsville, New York. Built in 1854 and designed by Scottish immigrant Robert Murray, it is a single-span timber and plank-framed bridge that reflects the character of a mid-19th-century rural road crossing. At 174 feet long and 19 feet wide, it has an unusually elongated form shaped by the river it crosses. Its importance rests in both its engineering and its preservation, as covered bridges once protected their wooden structural members from weather. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
