Mount Frazier is an 8,315-foot summit on Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front in Teton County, on Lewis and Clark National Forest land beside the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Rising steeply above the South Fork of Dupuyer Creek, it has strong local relief and drains into Blackleaf and Dupuyer creeks, part of the Missouri River watershed. The mountain is formed from sedimentary rock laid down from the Precambrian through the Jurassic, then thrust eastward over younger rock during the Sevier orogeny within the southern Lewis Overthrust. Its alpine subarctic climate, exposed rock layers, and rugged terrain make it a striking part of this front-country landscape.
