Tenmile Peak is a prominent 12,938-foot summit in Colorado’s Tenmile Range near Frisco, rising sharply above the surrounding valley with unusually steep relief for its elevation. Its summit climbs 3,340 feet above Tenmile Creek in just one mile, giving it a dramatic presence. Interstate 70 runs along its western base, and the Continental Divide Trail crosses its eastern slope. Water from its west and east sides drains into Tenmile Creek and Miners Creek, ultimately feeding Dillon Reservoir. With an alpine subarctic climate of snowy winters and frequent summer thunderstorms, the peak has long been a visible and recognized feature of central Colorado, appearing in publications by 1906.
